The functionality VisualSubSync has to offer can be divided into two categories: creating subtitles for a video or movie, and syncing the subtitles for a video or movie. If you want to show off your transcription or translation skills, use the VisualSubSync application to create subtitles for movies. You will find out that doing so with the VisualSubSync application is a fairly simple task.

The VisualSubSync installation file is close to 2MB in size, which isn’t much. This means that downloading said file onto your Windows-powered machine will take little time. Going through the instructions presented to you by the setup wizard that shows up when you run the aforementioned installation file also takes little time.

The pane at the top of VisualSubSync interface displays sound in waveform. Underneath it there’s a pane with playback controls, and underneath that there’s a section that displays existing subtitles and lets you add more subtitles. If you have any problems figuring out the interface, or the functionality VisualSubSync has to offer, check out the comprehensive Help file.

As mentioned above, VisualSubSync can be used to sync and to create subtitles. It took me about 10 minutes to figure out how to start a project and how to start adding subtitles. It should take you little time to figure out VisualSubSync’s functionality as well. Again, if you have any problems, go and check the Help file. And speaking about doing things quickly, most of VisualSubSync’s functions can be accessed using keyboard shortcuts. Instead of right clicking and then selecting the Add subtitle function, you can use the Ctrl+W shortcut, for example.

VisualSubSync is freeware. You can use it for as long as you want and you don’t have to pay for anything in return.

Easily create subtitles for videos and sync them with the free VisualSubSync application.

Pros

Little time and effort will go into VisualSubSync’s setup process. There’s a comprehensive Help file that explains how to use the application. Use VisualSubSync to sync and create subtitles. VisualSubSync displays audio as waveform; it can also display the loaded video next to the waveform. There are key combos for most of the functions VisualSubSync can perform. VisualSubSync is freeware.

Cons

None that I could think of.
